What is Permanent Makeup or PMU?

Permanent makeup is a form of cosmetic tattooing where by pigments are implanted into the skin using a machine similar to a conventional tattoo machine. Permanent makeup can be used to create eyeliner, lip and brow enhancements.

What is the difference between Microblading and Semi Permanent Makeup?

There seems to be a lot of confusion around the difference between permanent makeup and microblading. Essentially they are both methods of implanting pigment into the skin however the main difference is that PMIU is implanted with an electronic device very similar to a conventional tattoo machine where as microbloading is done using a manual hand tool with a blade similar to a tiny scalpel.

Natural results can be achieved with both methods but most people associate hairstoke brows with microblading, this is incorrect. Fine, crisp, natural looking strokes can be achieved through PMU and one of the distant advantages of PMU is that it is suitable for a wider range of skin types and you have more options in regards to the style of brows you choose. With PMU you can choose from natural hairstroke brows, powder brows or ombré brows and your treatment results will also last longer as PMU is implanted slightly deeper than microblading.

All of the above treatment - hairstroke brows (eyebrow tattoo/ brow tattoo), ombre brows, powder brows are available with Lucy at one her Essex based clinics, Romford, Cholcester and Rayleigh.

So, how long does it last?

PMU can last up to 4 years however a top up of your make up tattoo is recommended every 12 months in order to keep your permanent makeup looking fresh.
